Yes, you usually have to sign a year and a half contract. I think it goes something like if you don't keep your end of the bargain, they end up charging you for the equipment fees or something like that. I guess if you look at it from the point of view that you will at least be entertained during those 18 months, it doesn't seem so bad...So satellite television may be worth it.
