"The three Senators will be joined by a cavalcade of celebrities who are all aiming to surpass the $76 million that was raised by the Emmy Award winning special last year. Miley Cyrus performs her hit song "Broken Chains" while "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood covers George Michael's "Praying for Time." But arguably the biggest star lending his wattage to the event is Brad Pitt whose sheer presence caused such an uproar in the studio, filming had to be halted while the crowd calmed down.

In fact, the guest list for "Idol Gives Back" (airing Wednesday, April 9 7:30-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX) reads like a who's who of Hollywood. Also making appearances on the special are Victoria and David Beckham, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Alicia Keys, Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore, Toby Keith, Whoopi Goldberg, Bono, Eli and Peyton Manning, Fergie, Forest Whitaker, Mariah Carey and Robin Williams."

This was really good last year. American Idol did a lot of good things with the money they raised, both abroad and here in America. Some parts of it just brought tears to my eyes. Don't forget to watch tonight.

Go American Idol! :D

It was shameful.

I have always been a great supporter and lover of boobies. To me they looked like they must have been in great pain in that form of cruel captivity.

I wished I could have reached through the TV screen and set them free.

Many people are raising their eyebrows and ridiculing this show but they can not deny that AI really did helped a lot of people last year.

Can't watch, won't watch, forget about it. lol

You learn more about American Idol contestants on the show than you learn about the presidential candidates in the debates.

Maybe the debates should be replaced by a reality show. ;-)

This is amazing news. I love it so much. So, thank you for posting it.

I think its a good effort for raising some money. However they should really clarify who much money was raised and where it goes, otherwise I wouldn't trust them neither.

avatar
Reply

They do clarify. They have shown where the money goes. They've shown it on almost every episode of AI in the past weeks. They're really good about that.

Good news

It's appropriate. None of the candidates should be taken seriously. Unfortunately, we need serious leaders.

I was disappointed in the show. I heard about it, and as a

person that is involved in and works for a mega Church within the service programing division, I found myself thinking how the secular mainstream must view mega-churches. Not at all what we convey on a Sunday morning. Not at all.

AG:

That is probably because you don't see the really really cool stuff that is being done. IE, NOT in white pant suits, swaying on one leg to the other, while confetti is falling, singing Shout to the Lord. Plus they don't use the name Jesus, but 'Shepard'!

"Sheparad"? How politically correct for those on the left. NO, I am Not buying it. People are afraid to use the word JESUS. I'm not. He is my salvation. Those that want to be politically correct and use another word in a song that replaces Jesus, well thats a cowards way. A 'politically correct' waym but same as cowards way.
